I'm a research assistant at Brown Univeristy DEEPS (Department of Earth, Environment, and Planetary Sciences) where I study ENSO, sea surface salinity, and oxygen isotopes in the ocean. I love my job and think a lot about it —— you can read about my work under the Research Interests tab and in my research & life blog, "Picarro Rambles", named after the instrument I hang out with the most in lab :)

I graduated as an Earth and Atmospheric Sciences major at Georgia Institue of Technology, where my mentors introduced me to the world of methane hydrates and clathrate binding proteins (with Dr. Jennifer Glass), and corals and water isptopes (with Dr. Kim Cobb). At Georgia Tech, I also got to enjoy being a teaching assistant (where I got to talk about rocks for pay)!

I write about my journey in earth sciences as well as in academia, stories on grad school application,  battles with imposter syndrome, and thoughts about gender, race and identity in college and beyond. So, this is for whoever stumbles upon my rambles, and really, this is for myself so that one day I can look back and say "hey, I did everything I wanted to do. And even when I didn't, at least I tried."

So, if you're in for the ride, read on.
